There are over 40.000000 gypsies in India. The Philadelphia Mission in partnership with The Indian New Life Mission [India] are working with the NARI-KOR-AVARS gypsy tribe, the most disadvantaged of all the gypsy tribes.

My name is Evangelist Trevor Irwin and I am president/founder of Philadelphia Mission, a British registered Charity. [Reg No: 1049410].
I and all the small team do not get a salary and we do what we do because we Believe God has Called and empowered us to reach the poor and outcast in Remote and rural areas of Africa and India. God is Faithful to his word and meets our needs, as we reach out to those in great need.

OUR INDIA GYPSY MISSION.
I first went to India in 2005, to set up an Orphanage. Now in 2009, I have been back to minister among the India Gypsies. Philadelphia Mission has decided to partner with a Church ministry called THE INDIAN NEW LIFE MISSION to Gypsies.

There are 40,000000 gypsies in India. All in the Hindu low cast system are treated as Outcasts, they suffer not just from extreme poverty, but discrimination and bitterness from government, and Hindu alike. There are some Churches, Charities and other organisations working with most, but the Narikoravars, pronounced NARI-KOR-AVARS tribe is a tribe of Gypsies with almost no help, except from THE INDIAN NEW LIFE MISSION Church.

Started by Pastor Timothy Roland Native India pastor, 30 years ago, THE INDIAN NEW LIFE MISSION has been working with these People.

They have No Land, Clean water, Sanitation, little Food, and Clothing. 91% of their children do not attend School. This is because they cannot afford the school fees or uniform. But also because they are abused, beaten and chased from the school, just because they are Gypsies from the NARI-KOR-AVARS tribe.
Death rate is 21-100 ratio among children aged 0-7 years old. if they are sick and manage to get to medical centres or hospitals, they are often refused treatment. Excuses like , we don't have medicines, or a doctor is not available are common. Sometimes they are chased out of the hospital grounds. [I have personally witnessed this on this recent visit].

There only source of income is the had made beads and bracelets they make, and hunting. Beads and Bracelets can be purchased and hunting.

THE INDIAN NEW LIFE MISSION has won many to Christ, through love, food donations and evangelism. Now They are struggling to do the work, as they are financially poor. After seeing their work and personally spending time with the NARI-KOR-AVAR gypsies, I can truly testify to their terrible pain and struggling. They only get about 20 rupees per hand made bead necklaces. that's less than 40 Cents. they are bought by dealers and then sold in main cities and tourist areas and make a huge profit at the gypsies expense..

If they don,t sell these Bracelets, they go hungry. I have seen children like skeletons because they had no food. In every camp I went to I saw the Mothers give their children boiled rice and very little else, as they said all of them sold very little food the day before.

There homes are made of sticks and Plastic sheets. I and the Philadelphia Mission have decided, after Prayer and guidance from The lord, to help these forgotten and outcast people. They may be called outcasts and treated as such by almost all others in India, But they are not outcasts in Gods sight. They are precious and he loves them very much,
Jeremiah 30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast".

This now has grown and now Cares for 30 gypsy children, both boys and girls. rescued from the streets and camps, all were in great danger, poverty and many sick. Today they are all attending school, eat well and clothed. Also all have responded to Gods Love and are grounded in Gods word.
